I
originally produced brains2go.co.uk for my web journalism
MA. During this time I was the web editor for sheffield24.co.uk,
a news and features site produced by MA students.
Apart
from my editorial role I also ran the business desk, submitted
news on weekly newsdays and created a portfolio of business
features.

As
an organisation consultant for more than 15 years, and
now a corporate writer, I've worked for clients in many
sectors including: oil, health, construction, telecommunication
and manufacturing.
|
I've
covered topics including transformational change, strategy,
brand, engagement and organisation design.
As
a freelance writer, I work directly for clients and through
marketing, PR and communication agencies. I write accessible
material for non-technical audiences but can also write technical
biomedical copy. I am a trained and highly experienced interviewer
- face to face, telephone and e-interviews.
On
the consulting side, I offer business leaders practical help
with engagement to 'change the way we do things around here'.
This ranges from communication strategy to writing staff guidelines
or creating presentations.
I
am interested in innovative forms of organisation - online teaming,
communities of practice and cross-boundary working.
My
early career was spent as a biomedical scientist in the health
service and researcher for the Atomic Energy Authority, during
which time I contributed to trade press and professional magazines.
I also have an MA in human resource management.
Since
completing the journalism MA I have joined an online writing
group to try my hand at fiction.
About
the site
The
site provides features, resources and humour for management
consultants.
Like
most consultants I've got box files with various funny bits
and pieces I've picked up from clients and colleagues - you'll
find these in the 'On the bench' section.
